Which mostly means I have learned to wait. Newborn sessions run on the baby’s clock, not mine — we stop for feeding, for changing, for the long stretch where nothing at all is going to happen. Two or three hours is normal. Nobody is watching the time but me.
I photograph in natural light, with a soft, warm edit that will still look right in ten years. If you want something brighter or quieter, say so at the booking call and I will shoot for that instead.

Every price includes the session itself, the editing, and a private gallery with high-resolution downloads. Prints and albums are separate and never compulsory.

The sleepiest, curliest window. Booked around your due date rather than a fixed day, so it moves when the baby does.
Best at 30–36 weeks · Ninety minutes
Outdoors in golden hour, or in the studio with soft window light. Dresses in sizes 6 to 22 available to borrow.
Any age, any season · Two hours
Usually outdoors, usually walking, rarely sitting still. Best for families with toddlers who will not be told where to stand.
Around 11–13 months · One hour
Cake smash, bath and all. Bring a change of clothes and low expectations — the mess is the point.

For newborns we hold the week either side of your due date rather than a fixed day. You message when the baby arrives and we set the date then.
Ten minutes to talk through what you want, what you would rather avoid, and anything I should know about feeding or reflux.
Warm room, quiet music, and no rush. We stop whenever the baby needs stopping. You are welcome to bring food and someone to hold the coffee.

Newborn dates are held loosely and confirmed when the baby arrives, so this is a guide rather than a diary.

Any time in your second or third trimester. I hold the fortnight around your due date rather than a specific day, and we fix the date once the baby has actually arrived — usually for somewhere between five and fourteen days old, when they are still sleepy and curl up easily.
Then we wait, and it is completely normal. Roughly half of newborn sessions include a long feeding break, and some need a second visit — which I do not charge for. Nothing about the session is on a timer.
No. At-home sessions cost the same and many people prefer them, especially in the first fortnight. I will ask which room gets the best daylight and we will mostly work in there.
Soft, plain colours photograph best, and I send a short guide with examples once you book. There is also a client wardrobe of maternity dresses in sizes 6 to 22 that you are welcome to borrow.
Yes, and at no extra cost. We usually photograph the siblings first while they still have patience, then let them go and play.
Tell me roughly when you are due, or how old the children are, and I will let you know what is free. There is no deposit until we have spoken.
The studio is in Bathford, five minutes off the A363, with parking outside.
